Frequently Asked Questions
Paste.tc is an online service where you can store and share any piece of text, typically code snippets, configurations, notes, or error logs. It provides a simple way to share text with others via a unique URL.
Simply go to the homepage, paste your text into the main text area, choose your desired options (like syntax highlighting, expiration, and exposure), and click the "Create New Paste" button. You will then be redirected to a page with a unique URL for your paste.
No, you can create public and unlisted pastes without an account. However, creating an account allows you to manage your pastes, create private pastes (visible only to you when logged in), and potentially access other features.
You can choose for your paste to expire after a set period (e.g., 10 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year), to "Burn after read" (deleted after the first view), or to never expire.
- Public: Your paste will be visible to everyone and may appear in public archives and search engine results.
- Unlisted: Your paste will only be accessible to those who have the unique URL. It will not appear in public archives or search results.
- Private (Subscribers Only): Your paste will only be visible to you when you are logged into your account. (This feature may require user registration).
Currently, once a paste is submitted, it cannot be edited. This is to maintain the integrity of shared links. If you need to make changes, you can create a new paste with the updated content. Registered users might have options to delete their own pastes.
Please refer to our Terms of Service for a detailed list of prohibited content. Generally, this includes illegal content, copyrighted material you don't have rights to, personal PII/doxing, spam, and malicious code.
If you find a paste that you believe violates our Terms of Service or is illegal, please contact us through the information provided on our Contact page, or if it's a copyright issue, follow the procedure on our DMCA page. Please provide the URL of the offending paste.
